How to make the chocolate shake:

Start by adding the ingredients to your blender: frozen banana chunks, cocoa powder, nut or seed butter, medjool dates and non-dairy milk. (Make sure you remember to remove the pits from the dates before adding.)

Enjoy your healthy and delicious chocolate milkshake right away, or pour into a container to keep in the freezer for a few minutes until serving!

    Favorite toppings include:

    • Aerosolized Vegan Whip Cream
    • Coconut Whip Cream
    • Vegan Chocolate Sauce
    • Vegan Caramel Sauce
    • Mini Vegan Chocolate Chips

Medjool dates as a natural sweetener

Medjool dates are a special variety of dates that have an almost caramel like flavor and add a wonderful sweetness to this recipe. (Just be sure to remove the pits from them before blending!) If your blender has difficulty pureeing them absolutely smooth, you can either:

    1. Blend just the dates and non-dairy milk first until the dates are pureed completely smooth.
    2. Soak the dates in hot water for 30 minutes or so before blending to soften.

This recipe came to my email like magic! My daughter and I are newly dairy free and we were just talking about how much we missed milkshakes and POOF! right there in my inbox! I'm glad I subscribed to veganblueberry?
I only had 2 bananas to freeze so I halved the recipe. Needless to say I'm going to the supermarket for more bananas! Thank you for this delicious recipe!
