Medjool dates as a natural sweetener
Medjool dates are a special variety of dates that have an almost caramel like flavor and add a wonderful sweetness to this recipe. (Just be sure to remove the pits from them before blending!) If your blender has difficulty pureeing them absolutely smooth, you can either:
- Blend just the dates and non-dairy milk first until the dates are pureed completely smooth.
- Soak the dates in hot water for 30 minutes or so before blending to soften.

This recipe came to my email like magic! My daughter and I are newly dairy free and we were just talking about how much we missed milkshakes and POOF! right there in my inbox! I'm glad I subscribed to veganblueberry?
I only had 2 bananas to freeze so I halved the recipe. Needless to say I'm going to the supermarket for more bananas! Thank you for this delicious recipe!
