Pinnable image of fresh berry spritzers.

Super refreshing Berry Spritzers, made with fresh raspberries and blackberries. These light sparkly drinks are the tastiest way to stay hydrated and add some healthy berries to your day! These spritzers are naturally low-carb, gluten-free, vegan, and low-calorie.

Serve these as virgin spritzers, or spike them for a grown up drink!

Blackberry and Raspberry Spritzers

These sparkly, bubbly drinks are so refreshing and take just a few seconds to mix together! They're alcohol-free and perfect for kids and the whole family. They're colorful, light, slightly lemony, and so so delicious - everything I need in a fresh summer drink!

And of course, you can spike these with a little vodka, or use a little sparkling wine instead of sparkling water to mix together these berry spritzers... but that's totally up to you!

Ingredients

  • Sparkling water (1 cup per spritzer)
  • ½ cup blackberries
  • ½ cup raspberries
  • 1 Lemon

Instructions

Step 1: Divide blackberries and raspberries, along with a few mint leaves, between glasses and crush several with a pestle, mojito muddler, or the back of a spoon.

Muddling raspberries and blackberries in a glass.

Step 2: Zest the lemon lemon and add ¼ teaspoon zest into each glass. Slice 2 lemon wedges as garnish for each glass, or squeeze some lemon juice into each glass.

Step 3: Pour in sparkling water and stir to combine. Add ice cubes and 1-2 fresh mint leaves per glass. Stir and enjoy!!

Tips for the tastiest berry spritzers:

  • Use FRESH berries, not frozen/thawed berries.
  • Use a FRESH lemon instead of bottled lemon juice. I like to zest lemons with these microplane zesters, and use a basic citrus juicer, such as this one, to get fresh lemon juice for drinks (or fresh grapefruit juice - see variation ideas below!).
  • Pick a sparkling water you like. If you're not into club soda or Pellegrino, choose a seltzer or flavored seltzer that you enjoy.

Two glasses of blackberry and raspberry spritzers.

Variation ideas:

As I mentioned, a shot of vodka or swapping half the sparkling water with sparkling wine would be fun twists on this drink. But here are a few non-alcoholic ideas for berry spritzers:

  • Muddle fresh basil leaves instead of mint.
  • Add some ginger syrup to sweeten the drink and give it a little spice.
  • Try it with mulberries, or with this mulberry syrup!
  • Squeeze some fresh orange or freshly squeezed grapefruit juice into the drink instead of lemon.
