Create flavor-bursting, fail-proof Guacamole with this easy recipe that uses simple pantry ingredients in a delightful and delicious manner!  The perfect party food, appetizer, or Mexican food garnish!

My Mom is truly Guacamole queen.  At least I think so!  Living in Guadalajara, Mexico, gave her a special touch, and today I'm sharing her secrets with you!

This guacamole is amazing served with baked chipotle tortilla chips.

What you need to make the best easy Guacamole:

  • Avocado(s)
  • Salsa
  • Lemon juice (or lime juice)
  • Salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Seasoned salt
  • Tabasco Sauce

How to make Guacamole:

Cut a ripe avocado into two halves, and remove the pit.  Using a small knife, score the avocado all the way to the skin horizontally and vertically, creating a grid-work.  Use a spoon to remove the contents of the avocado into a bowl.

This method is very quick once you learn it, creating less need for 'mashing' with a fork, and I love that it leaves little pieces of avocado, creating a guacamole full of texture.

Now add the rest of your ingredients to the guacamole: onion powder, garlic powder, seasoned salt, lemon juice, and salsa and Tabasco.

Use a fork to mix everything together and mash to your desired texture.  Serve at room temp or chilled!

How to store Guacamole:

Guacamole is best fresh or within a couple of hours but should definitely be eaten within 24-48 hours of when it is made.

To prevent guacamole from turning brown, store it in the refrigerator with the pit in the guacamole and with plastic wrap actually touching the surface of the guacamole.  The less air space there is, the less brown it gets.

Favorite Guacamole add-ins:

  • diced tomato
  • minced onion
  • finely diced jalapeno pepper
  • fresh chopped cilantro leaves

Favorite Guacamole recipe tip:

My favorite Guacamole tip is using Salsa in this recipe.  Whether it's homemade or your favorite store-bought variety, salsa adds a depth and fulness of flavor that is awesome!  And with a couple splashes to Tabasco to boot?  Simply perfection!
