This easy homemade pizza sauce recipe only requires 6 ingredients, one bowl, and 5 minutes to make!  No need to run to the store for a jar of pizza sauce!  No preservatives, no additives, and made just how you like it!

Recently I was prepping homemade pizza pockets and I really needed a pizza sauce that had good flavor, was easy to make, and wasn't thin and runny.  Enter this simple pizza sauce recipe!  I think you're going to love it!

It's fantastic on vegan pizza with vegan mozzarella, or simply used as a dip for breadsticks.

What you need to make homemade pizza sauce:

    • tomato sauce
    • tomato paste
    • olive oil
    • onion powder
    • garlic salt
    • oregano

How to make this easy pizza sauce:

    Grab your six ingredients.

    Olive oil note:

One thing to think about is your olive oil.  I love extra virgin olive oil, and I think the stronger flavor really adds to this recipe, but use what you have!

Measure everything into a small bowl.  And use a spoon to mix everything together!!  That's it, you're done!!

    Expert cooking tips:

Perhaps you like a sweet pizza sauce!  If so, feel free to add a teaspoon (or more) of agave or sugar when making it!

Another idea is to add red pepper flakes for spiciness!  this is my style, but my kids don't appreciate so I usually just add some spice to my own pizza at the table!

    Pizza Sauce Storage tips:

This pizza sauce will keep in and air-tight container in the refrigerator for about 5 days.  This is a small recipe (yields about 1 cup) so if you like extra pizza sauce for dipping be sure and make a double batch.  If there's extra, you can freeze it for later!

All this yummy homemade pizza sauce needs is to get spread on your favorite pizza crust (try a vegan meatball pizza!), hidden in pizza pockets, or serve as a dipping sauce for garlic bread sticks!  Yummy!!
