This delicious and nutritious vegan milkshake is delightfully decadent but also refined sugar free! Literally just 5 ingredients and 5 minutes of your time are all that is needed!
Start by adding the ingredients to your blender: frozen banana chunks, cocoa powder, nut or seed butter, medjool dates and non-dairy milk. (Make sure you remember to remove the pits from the dates before adding.)
Add the blender lid and process until completely smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides of your blender once or twice, or use your blender tamper (if you have one) as needed.
Enjoy your healthy and delicious milkshake right away, or pour into a container to keep in the freezer for a few minutes until serving!
Medjool dates are a special variety of dates that have an almost caramel like flavor and add a wonderful sweetness to this recipe. (Just be sure to remove the pits from them before blending!) If your blender has difficulty pureeing them absolutely smooth in this recipe, you can either:
Blend just the dates and non-dairy milk first until the dates are pureed completely smooth.
Soak the dates in hot water for 30 minutes or so before blending to soften them.
